Mary Murray is an Irish film, television and stage actress, best known for The Magdalene Sisters, Love/Hate and Adam & Paul. She is also director of Visions Drama School in her native Dublin.

Notable Roles


Mary was most recently seen playing the role of Aline Lambert in the TV mini series Dead Still for RTE and Acorn TV (USA). This has been released in Canada, North America, UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand and throughout Europe.

She appeared in cinemas in the animated feature film Two by Two: Overboard until our level 5 lockdown was imposed.

Mary filmed the role of Sheila - the vampire queen in the feature film Let the Wrong One In throughout October.

Recent live performances at the Dublin Theatre Festival include the fully staged live streamed production of Embargo by Deirdre Kinahan with Fishamble Theatre Company.

She live streamed a staged reading of Stronger by Geoff Power for Guna Nua Theatre Company. She also performed the live streamed reading of Purple Sins by Piece McDonagh with Corps Ensemble Theatre Company for the Engage Festival in association with the Axis Theatre.

Mary was delighted to be involved in Abbey Talks produced by the Abbey Theatre in association with Aware in December.

Holy Mary by Eoin Colfer will return to the Gaiety Theatre in 2021after last years hugely successful tour.

She is the director of Visions Drama School and Agency in Dublin and since the Covid-19 lockdown she has reignited her love for singing and established Karaoke in Mary’s Gaf. She also presented four radio shows for The Power of Dreams Show on Dublin South FM on 93.9fm. She is also a member of The Corps Ensemble Theatre Company.

Mary played Janet in seasons 3, 4 and 5 of the hit TV Series Love/Hate for which she was nominated best leading actress and best supporting actress at the IFTAS.

Other notable productions include The Magdalene Sisters, Adam and Paul and Penny Dreadful.
