About Mary


Mary Murray is an Irish film, television and stage actress, best known for The Magdalene Sisters, Love/Hate and Adam & Paul. She is also director of Visions Drama School in her native Dublin.

Most Recent & Upcoming Projects


Mary won ‘Best Actress’ at the BBC Audio Drama Awards 2023 for the role of Janet in The Pride of Parnell Street by Sebastian Barry. Directed by Jim Culleton of Fishamble Theatre Company and performed alongside Aidan Kelly.

Mary will be shooting the feature film Clan Canavan in January and recording the radio play Sandwich in February 2024.

Mary recently played Sheila, vampire queen and fiancé to the brilliant Anthony Head in the comedy horror LET THE WRONG ONE IN. It's now available to view on streaming platforms worldwide.

Mary recently won Best Actress at the The Underground film Awards for her role in the short film A Christmas Matter.

She can seen performing the role of Ganna in the latest season of Valhalla on Netflix.

After a hugely successful run of Holy Mary by Eoin Colfer at 3Olympia Theatre and the National Opera House Wexford this year, Mary will return to Irish and Stateside audiences alongside Jacinta Sheerin for another run in 2024. 

She is the director of Visions Drama School and Agency in Dublin and a member of The Corps Ensemble Theatre Company.

Notable Roles


Mary played Janet in seasons 3, 4 and 5 of the hit TV Series Love/Hate for which she was nominated best leading actress and best supporting actress at the IFTAS.

Other notable productions include The Magdalene Sisters, Adam and Paul and Penny Dreadful.
